Driving Lessons

A-OK offers more driving services than other new driver schools...

We go the extra mile for all our customers. 

We can provide any or all of the following:

• Private driving lessons- Our lessons are $80 for 45 minutes. The lessons are strictly private, only one student is in the car at a time. You will never see three or four students crammed into the car at one time.
• Pay as you go - No packages (contracts). You take as many or as few lessons as you need. You are under no obligation. Also, we accept cash, check, or credit/debit card for payments.
• Cars Available for Road Test - One student at a time (other driving schools take multiple drivers for testing). Get done with your road test quickly, usually less than an hour. The cost of the car for in-area road tests is $95. 
• Supplemental Lessons for those enrolled in Driver's Ed- Many students enrolled in NYS Driver's Education programs struggle to pass the Road Test because the in-car instruction is done with 3-4 students in the car at the same time. Students don't get enough time behind the wheel to sharpen the skills that they need to be successful on the Road Test. Taking private lessons in addition to Driver's Ed can guarantee  students get the one-on-one instruction they need to better prepare them for the Road Test and to be overall safe drivers.
• Written progress reports after each lesson, so that you know exactly how well you are doing.
• Door-to-door pickup service from home, school, or work in Western and Central Suffolk County.
• Practice road tests for the perfect "dress rehearsal", at no additional cost.
• Road test appointments secured for our students, at no additional cost.
• Discount available for active military as well as veterans.
• We accept cash, checks, credit or debit cards.

Since 1980, A-OK Driving School has endeavored to be much more than just a road test preparation service. Our Driving School is a family-owned driver training business that takes pride in a personal type of driving instruction with a special emphasis on safe driving methodology.  

Recognizing that 50% of new drivers will have an accident their first year on the road, our driver training emphasis is on defensive driving and general accident avoidance tactics which goes far beyond the basic driver's ed program. Most accidents are avoidable and our Driving School will show you how!
